The interesting part of this for me is will the political right ever get the point of a fundamental element of physics. That is, warm air holds more moisture. Warm air over the warming ocean will evaporate more water and wind currents become stronger as energy differences increase. We should expect stronger, faster and more violent storms with intermitting stronger drying sequences.
Other than make Physics 101 a fifth grade requirement I don't know what the answer is. Even after having several semesters of University Physics I did not guess how this climate change would play out. There is much more to the planet's oceans serving as an energy sink than I imagined. The problem that both the political right and the political left are having is that they expect various cycles to disappear, or offer cycles as an alternate explanation when they have nothing to do with global warming.
The final solutions still seem to be wrapped up in two areas. One is getting clean sustainable energy solutions to work as quickly as possible. Perhaps we should quit looking for other answers to making the nation energy independent and focus on lowering the production costs of solar. Second, we could address overpopulation more realistically with stronger responses to attacks on birth control.

"Other than make Physics 101 a fifth grade requirement I don't know what the answer is." I've been saying that for years about schools requiring Chemistry 101. The problem is that too many people - especially Americans - are ignorant about science and proud.

Since the American public schools don't even make learning to read and write a requirement for hs graduation.
The answer must be found somewhere not so politically correct.

The need for better education is not a matter of political correctness. It's a matter of our very survival as a species at this point!
