Religion is worse than delusional because people use it as an excuse to commit atrocious crimes against their neighbors.

Thanks for the input L.I. I view ANY religion as an abomination, and history has shone repeatedly that delusional people (such as those who are religious) seldom engage in life works that benefit society, their #1 game being repression, which would go a long way towards explaining why Americans, (who are overwhelmingly Christin) in the view of the vast majority of the more enlightened and intellectually advanced people of the world -such as the Europeans- are so stupid and repressed, especially in matters concerning sex.

While I wholeheartedly agree that organized religion (especially monotheism) has been a blight on humanity for thousands of years, as a student of paleoanthropology I must note that the discovery of God led to the beginning of art, agriculture and civilization. I refer to the cave paintings some 30,000 years ago at Lascaux, France, as well as the 12,000 year old temple in Turkey - Gobekli Tepe. Let's face it, modern man is a religious animal.

...
thousands of years from now: Religion will be used to explain the Washington, county and state courthouses, and state capitol ruins with their pillars and Greek style entries.
In Dune it is said: When religion and politics travel in the same cart, the riders believe nothing can stand in their way. Their movement becomes headlong – faster and faster and faster. They put aside all thought of obstacles and forget that a precipice does not show itself to the man in a blind rush until it’s too late. ...

>>Which religion is the most violent?<<
Methinks that award goes to ye old monotheisms. Yahweh, Geezeus and Allah. Although Stalin and Mao were just as bad. Let's focus on what we can do to change this world for good.
