For some reason this evening, more than most I'm really missing the people who were at Current. I don't miss Current at all, but I sure do miss you all. Hopefully people will come by just to say hello if nothing else and let us know how you're doing and what's up!! Missing my fellow Currenteers. Free

It is a strange time without Current. As for me I didn't spend a lot of time on Current I work, then I have the website I work on. Oh I also have a FireFox profile replacement now! It's a one of a kind thing! It's for security. ( home.dbdbdugbug.operaunite.com/Projects/content/BROWSERS/Download.html ) Other than that the internet & info finds me. Like the strange info I found, it all connects in a way! It all takes time to put the things together. ( my.opera.com/walmart-ramen/blog/2013/06/15/pyramid-strange-things-you-did-not-know ) For some reason this evening, more than most I'm really missing the people who were at Current. I'm very happy you're here, Free! I have puppies (guests) that follow me from forum to forum and I hope they will become members and post their thoughts and opinions instead of what they are paid to do. If I post too much, y'all say so and I will cut back. edit: So fun to walk in and have breakfast with some punk that thinks he has been anonymous. No one is anonymous .... Treat me like you want me to treat you. We will get along just fine.

I want this site to succeed! Sorry if I've been cantankerous. It seems that we are equally opinionated, in a good way.....

It's good to have differing opinions (IMO). Current was something different and I think the up down voting had a lot to do with it as well. A certain level of tension makes a site more interesting if that's what you're looking for. Glad you're here!!

Hey WR, good to see you. I check your blog too and left a comment recently. Good to see you. Speaking of Walmart's I was there last week, I left without buying anything. I was at Target's last night. I left without buying anything. I noticed the prices weren't any better than those at other stores/hardware, so I don't know what the appeal is. I didn't see that much of a savings, and wonder if people even pay attention.
No one will even remember stores like: Bradlees Zayres??? Woolworth's

Current was a place for many of us to express our feelings and spread news and information. I been having withdraws from it...lol I sometimes click into the site to see if someone would say. "let's bring back the real people again" and all I see is: Current has become poop! It is so pathetic that they are trying to make a new site when they already had an amazing group of contributors who gave all the content they need it... We have been silenced and even if we won't admitted is pretty weird that they got away with closing an honest unbiased content venue where thousands of people would come and hear; non- media information. I miss reading all the amazing stories from my friends and my not so friendly bloggers, also the format was soo cool. Don't get me wrong I am grateful for this current reborn and I will put forward an effort to contribute. However, I am angry for the way we were treated and how they destroyed our Freedom of Speech! Let's keep the resistant! much love everyone! <3 ;D

If you have the email addresses of Current friends who haven't registered here, send them the link to Current Reborn and encourage them to contribute. I think that part of the problem is that, unlike Current, responses to one's posts are not emailed to one. This feature doesn't exist here, as far as I have been able to tell.

I think the up down voting had a lot to do with it as well. A certain level of tension makes a site more interesting Isn't the [ Exalt | Smite ] a lot like voting? Getting interest in acquiring "Karma" by posting to using that kind of "voting" might generate the "tension" that you mentioned unlike Current, responses to one's posts are not emailed to one. IDK if this emails, but at least it should notify once you're on the page "Check this box if you wish to bookmark this thread." maybe people just have to get used to checking in here more regularly since it's a different system I joined Current when there was user input to the TV station to design commercials and got some of my comment read on the air by Vicky, but there's not as much as a lure here Follow you from forum to forum? As in stalking? A lot of people still get entertainment from the "nutjobs" like watching animals in the zoo or are fascinated by car crashes, but is it worth all the collateral damage it causes for that kind of popularity? I joined here to support the bOObies "grope" but I'd say that people would have to rise to the challenge to make something better here than sink to the cheap thrill of tabloid gossip, if they wanted to make this place worthy of the name "Reborn" then it would be more substantial "I challenge you to make your life a masterpiece. I challenge you to join the ranks of those people who live what they teach, who walk their talk." ...Tony Robbins www.cafepress.com/currentlove.836834146In order to get the full resolution and all the detail it should be seen on the banner it was designed for www.cafepress.com/currentlove.836834144also available as a framed print to communicate to an offline audience

Follow you from forum to forum? As in stalking? What's the going rate for paid posting these days? Is it still a .05 per post? When I was taught by a RNC rep. I got an expensive teak director's chair from Roger Ailes. I was a team leader. When Barry Goldwater got kicked out of amerika's communist party (Republicans) I left with him. I still have that director's chair Still have the knowledge of a republican insider and still love my country and respect our constitution, witch republicans now hate and use for toilet paper. Yep they stalk me ... Nobody on the internet is anonymous. Everyone leaves tracks the professionals can find and sell. A nasty letter to our President in 1993 resulted in a reply to my accusation of insiders in smoke filled rooms with a DNC card with a hologram that got me admittance from then to now to any Democratic pprty meeting. I learned they (democrats) are each and everyone convinced only he or she has the answers to our nations's problems. And they (democrats) will never lockstep to the orders of a party leader like republicans do. They have no rush nor hannity to tell them what to think about and what to think about it. They each and every one think for themselves, and that scares republicans.
edit: When Arlen Spector died I was interviewed on the cable tv (Al Gore's) I told stories about my time with him and the one Bill Press liked was about Arlen had been booed while talking about national healthcare at an old folks home. Leaving, walking in the parking lot. I'd said: "Senator, you didn't make any friends in there tonight." Arlen said: "Sometimes, when you are doing the right thing, everybody gets mad at you." He was a good man. Bill Press said: "That's Arlen!" Read more: current.boards.net/index.cgi?action=display&board=introduceyourself&thread=400&page=1#ixzz2WMwqukq6

You said it Brava. We got dumped for their "new slick site".
I look at it this way, regardless of what they think they're nothing without "us". All of us, the good and the bad. Mainly from what I had been reading, Current had quite a history with a lot of contributors.
Wish we could have taken the format over at least, it was great and made it really easy to post and comment.
Glad to see you Brava, are you still traveling?

Wish we could have taken the format over at least, it was great and made it really easy to post and comment. T'was a great format and forum. It helped me learn how to post articles, photos and videos to the www. But Current Reborn is almost as easy as Current to post articles, photos and videos. I really like the options of bold, italic, font size and color. So it takes an extra few minutes to upload a jpg to ImageShack? I feel like we've graduated from high school and have entered college. We are learning how the pros do it.

I really like the options of bold, italic, font size and color. We are learning how the pros do it. Speaking of that BTW, increasing the font size of the quotes would make them easier to read. I bet that's "how the pros do it"

I have a hard time reading tiny print and have been increasing the font size lately.

I did not post often at current. I post more here and the watchers are paying attention.
They fear someone else will pay attention to what I say.
That scares them.

I miss the format of Current and all the friends I made on there. I have been communicating with some of them through email. It seems like very few people are on this site at the same time. Some of it could be because we all come from different time zones, but I wondering why all the people who registered in the beginning don't seem to show up very often. Also, I wish this site would notify us when a new comment has been made to an article we commented on. Maybe it would keep more people interested. I do receive notices on another Pro Board site that LLIP started and it does notify us of new comments. Is this something we could get here as well? Maybe that would get people to come back more often.

I miss all my fellow Currenteers, too! Current was a one of a kind place. And I'm with you, northern. This site needs what LLIP's site has. A system that notifies you of a new comment. Hello to all my fellow Currenteers and I hope all of you are doing well.

Maybe that would get people to come back more often. I have gone through all the possible settings for this board with a finetooth comb - nowhere is there any feature that allows to notify one of new comments by email. Perhaps LLIP created a paying Pro Board site, i.e. she is paying for extra features. Can you give me the url to her site? Thanks in advance.

This is what I found - although it doesn't seem to work for me, I haven't found any "edit profile" button, only "modify profile" and nowhere is there a Notifications tab when I go to "modify profile": www.proboards.com/user-guide/notificationsActions you can be notified about, and choosing how to be notified The ProBoards forum software allows you to receive notifications on the forum with the built-in notification system, as well as receive notifications via email if you choose to do so. To setup your forum notifications, as well as to view which types of notifications are available, visit the forum that you have a forum account on and login to your account. Once you're logged in, click the Profile button found in the top menu bar of the forum, and then click the Edit Profile button on your profile page. You'll then be taken to the Edit Profile & Settings page; once here, click on the Notifications tab. On the notifications page, you'll see a set of checkboxes separated into two columns. Checking the boxes in the left column will allow you to receive forum notifications to the option you have checked, and checking the boxes in the right hand column will allow you to receive an email notification to the option you have checked. You can choose to receive both forum and email notifications for certain actions if you wish. More at link
