Van Jones is correct and I really hope that the real truth about this pipeline is heard above the noise coming from the oil industry who have distorted the benefits to the US and the number of US jobs this pipeline will create, plus that this oil is not for the US. British Columbia has rejected the Northgate Pipeline project, which would build an alternative pipeline from Alberta through BC to the Pacific Ocean to ship this dirty oil to China because the company cannot adequately explain how they plan to clean up oil spills. The Province is very concerned about the environmental impact of this pipeline. The biggest problem BC has is that the Canadian federal government can overrule their decision and build it through BC anyway. The Canadian government has become a bully who belittles anyone who opposes this pipeline, and is threatening Canadian/US relations if Obama doesn’t approve the pipeline. Americans need to let Obama know that they have his back if he opposes the pipeline. In the meantime, the best hope the US has right now is the EPAs opposition to the pipeline.
