This is when I fell in love with Joni Mitchell. On his death-bed jazz bassist legend Charles Mingus asked her to complete his latest work because he was infatuated with her earlier albums with jazz bassist Jaco Pastorius on 'Hijera' and 'Don Juan's Reckless Daughter.' The album 'Mingus' was panned at the time (1979) and tanked her career, but has come to be deeply loved and appreciated.
