I honestly think this is our only hope for survival.
I planter 50 sequoia saplings in Pennsylvania and New York seven years ago and one is now 30 feet tall. This year I plan to plant 50 black willows downstream of the fracking.

We planted an aspen tree in our front yard last summer ... it has buds on it now; and our pear tree has given us many pears the last 2 summers!!! :-) Soon I need to do some pruning on it as it's growing straight up instead of out.

It's an awesome thing watching and tending trees that we plant. Great to hear from you Wolfess!!!

Not sure if I got your quote right, but I tried. :-) Thank you for the kind words coolplanet! Ok, I tried it twice then just gave up and copied your response! And then I saw the quote button to the left of the emoticon button ...

This year I am going to plant a tomato in my barbecue grill b/c it has a couple of holes in it. Last summer my cucumbers and tomatoes did nothing and I thought maybe that was b/c of the bunnies and the squirrels so I'm going to plant a couple tomatoes in the grill and put it on the deck where I can watch it, and where it will get sun all day long. And in the garden I will put chicken wire around the veggies this year to see if that keeps the little buggers out! I feed them popcorn, peanuts and walnuts -- what more do they need??? :-) We've had a few 60/70 degree days this month so now I'm getting anxious to get out and start my spring planting.
