"This Is What Winning Looks Like" is a disturbing new documentary about the ineptitude, drug abuse, sexual misconduct, and corruption of the Afghan security forces as well as the reduced role of US Marines due to the troop withdrawal. In part one, we see just how chaotic and hopeless the situation is in Sangin, one of the most violent towns in Afghanistan.
Part 1
In part two, we see on-the-ground footage of fighting between the Afghan forces and the Taliban as well as insightful commentary from the documentary's producer, Ben Anderson. There are also exclusive interviews with the US Ambassador and the British Deputy Ambassador to Afghanistan about the prospect of peace in the region.
Part 2
In part three, we see that the sad truth is, at the end of the day, we will be leaving behind ill-prepared security forces, which will likely lead to an increase in Taliban attacks, civilian casualties, and, overall, an increasingly dangerous and fragile nation.
Part 3 (of 3)

This soooo reminds me of what the BrassCheck and RealEcon .com TV websites Email me on a daily basis. Leen61 tipped me to these sources which are so very astounding per se. And their links to bibliograpies on topics like Govt. Corruption and a 360 degree in all directions universe of other fundamental topics. Yesterday they described how the Banksters took over the USA during the Great Depression of 1929-1939. And how the USA is in much, much worse shape today with G people oblivious to the eventual economic collapse. The bottom line they spelled out is how the 90 years olds of today lived through the original Great Depression as adults. But as noone listens to them, and it hasn't impacted others yet, we're doomed to repeat History. Senators McCain of Arizona and Byrd of W.Virginia warned people the MIC was steering us into another quagmire like Vietnam, in 2008. They made a lot of sense to me, but then I marched with 300 others down Broadway in NYC in Summer of 1969 to form the protest that helped stop that war. I still remember vividly police holding back the brainwashed rednecks violent attemnpts to lunge at us, Assault us., How they had blood in their eyes and looked like they wanted to kill us. I showed no fear, and felt none, but I sensed it would all end badly anyway. There'd already been too much evil done to pretend as if anyone's military victory would do any more than to wrest control. Noone wins wars. It's a loose, loose situation except for the .00001% whose Fascism profits by moving people around like rooks on a chessboard.
The Greeks have a legend about one of their ancient Kings whose name was Sysiphus. He offended the Gods somehow and so they cursed him to live in Tarturus. His task was to roll a stone up a hill. If he got it to the top he was free. But they always knew he had only enough strength to get it almost to the top only to slip then have it roll over him as he tumbled down the steep hill. The Gods knew he was obsessed with freeing himself from Tarturus. They'd watch King Sysiphus try & fail a million times for an eternity of their amusement. Many believe war is glorious & profitable, even ineviable. But when people look beneath the jingoism, and see the blood, misery and total loss, they see the Truth which Orwell called the 1st casualty of any war. Ficks, a clan of the Quaker sect of Dutch first entered Pennsylvania in 1704. They're my clan. We know Peace is a sacred spirit, and never a season but a way of life.
