Why pit bulls are still legal is beyond me.

Cats are amazingly protective creatures. My cat pounces on top of the car every time we try to leave home. He also closes the hatchback by jumping on the flipped up door and riding it down until it closes. I have this ritual when making a sandwich in the morning. I throw the dogs tiny scraps of turkey. The cat knows I will give him a share too if he jumps onto the table. Instead, he prefers to be down with the dogs chasing the meat. The cat always rejects the meat and lets the dogs have it.

Why pit bulls are still legal is beyond me. Both my pit bulls were very gentle loving pets, but they loved to fight other dogs. My first pit, and a big red doberman would sleep together, eat together, and fight like the 3 musketeers all day long, with no harm to either cause they controlled their bites. A half wolf/half shepherd would watch and bark. (his bark like bear grunting) They both would sit while he stood and then he went over the last scuffle with the one he wanted to correct. Repeat... until his student got it right. Then they would go over it again. Was fun to watch the non hostile sparring and the old trooper wolf hybrid teaching both of them. My toddler daughter ran and tripped, they all three ran to rescue her as she cried. They were not vicious animals. They were my family, far more so than "family & friends" humans who rejected me after nam, 'cause I did not feed their egos. (instead of deal with reality) Just like feral cats today. Reality is their life.... IMHO pets take on the personality of their owners.
Up to me? I would have all pits and other bulldogs nutered. *many people also
